About Goodison Park & Everton FC
Established in 1878, Everton Football Club history began in Liverpool as St Domingo’s, changing to Everton in 1879 at Anfield stadium. However, a dispute with club president John Houlding led to their move to Goodison Park in 1892 on the opposite side of Stanley Park, heightening the Merseyside Derby rivalry. Dubbed the "Grand Old Lady," the stadium holds 39,752 fans, however the club is due to move to a new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock in Liverpool by 2025.
Each section of the stadium has its own character. The Bullens Road Stand, named after club director John Bullens, has exceptional pitch views and a buzzing matchday atmosphere. The Gwladys Street End, named after one of the club's founders, is renowned for its passionate, vocal supporters who contribute to the stadium's charged energy. The modern Main Stand provides comfortable seating and hospitality areas.
Goodison Park has witnessed historic football moments, like Dixie Dean's record-breaking goal in 1928. Everton's legendary striker netted his 60th league goal of the season against Arsenal, a feat unmatched in a single English top-flight season. A statue of Dixie Dean stands outside the stadium.
